Giving is an act of worship
Our giving is part of how we honour God with our whole lives. Just as the early church “devoted themselves… to the breaking of bread and the prayers” (Acts 2:42), we also bring our resources to God in gratitude, recognising that all we have comes from Him.

Supporting ministry in our community
Financial gifts help St. Philip and St. James’ to share the good news of Jesus in Ilfracombe - through worship, pastoral care, outreach, and practical service. Paul writes that “the Lord has commanded that those who preach the gospel should receive their living from the gospel” (1 Corinthians 9:14).

Caring for those in need
Our church is committed to Christ’s call to serve “the least of these” (Matthew 25:40). Giving enables us to respond to practical needs locally and support wider mission partners who serve the vulnerable around the world.

Preserving a place of prayer and welcome
For generations, St. Philip and St. James’ has stood as a house of prayer, a spiritual home for weddings, baptisms, funerals, and weekly worship. Your giving helps care for the building so it can remain a safe, beautiful, and welcoming space for all.

Investing in the next generation
From children’s ministry to youth discipleship, your gifts help us pass on the faith to future generations, fulfilling the psalmist’s vision: “One generation commends your works to another; they tell of your mighty acts” (Psalm 145:4).

Partnering in God’s mission worldwide
Through the Church of England’s wider network, our giving supports global mission, disaster relief, theological training, and the planting of new worshipping communities - living out Jesus’ Great Commission (Matthew 28:19–20).
